Sevgi ESKİOCAK

He was born in 1964 in Ankara. He graduated from Bandırma Şehit Mehmet Gönenç High School in 1981 and from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty in 1987. He completed his compulsory service at Social Insurance Institution (SSK) Hatay Dörtyol Dispensary and Samsun SSK Hospital. Between 1991-1995, he received his specialty training at Ondokuz Mayıs University.

He worked as a Biochemistry and Clinical Biochemistry Specialist at Edirne State Hospital between 1996 and 1999, and started to work as an assistant professor at Trakya University in 1999. Receiving the title of Associate Professor in 2008 and Professor in 2013, Prof. Dr. Eskiocak is married and has one child.

Professional and Administrative Experience

Between 1999-2020, he worked as a lecturer at Trakya University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Biochemistry. During his teaching career, he trained 3 master's, 1 doctorate and 4 specialization students 

In education-management; He held various positions such as Course Board Manager, Assessment and Evaluation Unit Head, Continuing Education Board Member and Head, Ethics Committee Member, Self-Assessment Committee Member, Accreditation Advisory Board Member, Education-Training and Exam Regulation Working Group Member, Question Acceptance Committee Membership. prof. Dr. Sevgi Eskiocak, also in the service area of the hospital; He also fulfilled the duties of Central Laboratory Biochemistry Unit Responsibility, Inspection Commission Member, Hospital Disaster and Emergency (HAP) Commission Member, Tender Commission Member, Central Advisory Board Basic Medical Sciences Department associate professor representative.

During his time at Trakya University Faculty of Medicine, he was particularly interested in laboratory quality processes, laboratory quality indicators, oxidative stress, antioxidants, diabetes and atherosclerotic heart disease, active education methods, question writing and evaluation, and conducted studies in these areas. As an executive and assistant researcher in many projects, Prof. Dr. Sevgi Eskiocak has published in national and international articles and made a presentation as an invited speaker at many national congresses.

A member of Gaziantep Medical Chamber, Prof. Dr. Sevgi Eskiocak is a member of the Turkish Biochemistry Association (TBD), the Turkish Clinical Biochemistry Association (TKBD) and the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Medical Education Programs (TEPDAD), and takes an active role in various subcommittees and boards of these associations.
