Sezgin BARUTÇU

He was born in 1983 in İskenderun. In 2001, he graduated from Istiklal Makzume Anatolian High School and in 2008 he graduated from Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University Faculty of Medicine. In 2005, with the scholarship of ‘International Federation of Medical Students’, he spent 1 month in Spain as an observer for Cardiology rotation at ‘Hospital Clinico Universitario Lozano Blesa de Zaragoza’ Hospital.

Having received his Internal Medicine speciality from Dicle University in 2013, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Barutçu completed his Gastroenterology subspecialty at Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine in 2017. In the same year, he was successful in the board exam organised by the Turkish Gastroenterology Association and was entitled to receive the Gastroenterology Competence Certificate.

Between 2019-2023, he worked as a ‘Doctor Faculty Member’ at Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine / Gastroenterology Department. In 2022, he received Endoscopic Ultrasonography training at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine for 1 month. In 2022, he successfully completed Advanced Endoscopic Procedures (EUS, ESD, EMR, POEM) Training at ‘CHA University Hospital Digestive Disease Centre’ in South Korea with the scholarship of Turkish Gastroenterology Association. In 2023, he received the title of ‘Associate Professor’.

He has 40 articles published in international and national refereed journals, 8 book chapter authorships, 4 thesis management and more than 120 oral and poster presentations presented in international and national congresses. He has expertise in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases.
