Zarema KARBEN

He was born in April 1960 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and completed his high school education in 1977.

He graduated from the Kyrgyzstan University Faculty of Medicine in 1983. Between 1984 and 1989, he completed his specialization in Cardiology and won the titles of "Cardiology Specialist" and "Associate Professor".

In 1993, he worked as an "Associate Professor" in the Department of Cardiology at Çukurova University, within the scope of the TÜBİTAK Doprog program.

In 1995, he became a Turkish citizen and received the Equivalence Certificate of the Faculty of Medicine in the same year.

In 1997, he received the Cardiology Specialization Equivalency Certificate from Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine and started to work as a Cardiology Specialist at Gaziantep SANKO University Hospital in the same year.

In 2014, he received the equivalence certificate of his associate professor diploma. In March 2015, he was appointed as a Professor in the Department of Cardiology, Faculty of Medicine, SANKO University. Married and a mother of one, Prof. Dr. Karben is particularly interested in pulmonary hypertension detection and evaluation methods and has national and international publications on these subjects.
