Pelin ÖZYOL

Prof. Dr. Pelin Özyol completed her medical training at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine between 1998 and 2004, and her specialisation in Ophthalmology at the Department of Ophthalmology, Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, between 2005 and 2010.

Following her compulsory service, she began her academic career as an assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Muğla University Faculty of Medicine. In 2015, she undertook advanced training in ‘Corneal Diseases and Corneal Transplantation’ at the Department of Ophthalmology, Ege University Faculty of Medicine.

In 2017, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor, and in 2018, he successfully passed the ‘European Board of Ophthalmology’ examination held in Paris, France, earning the ‘FEBO’ title.

Dr Özyol, who began working as an Associate Professor at the SANKO University Hospital Ophthalmology Clinic in May 2018, was awarded the title of Professor in 2023. Prof. Dr Pelin Özyol, in addition to seeing patients, serves as Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at SANKO University Faculty of Medicine.

Prof. Dr Özyol has published numerous articles in nationally and internationally indexed ophthalmology journals that have received a significant number of citations. She has authored chapters in ophthalmology textbooks and presented numerous papers at national and international ophthalmology congresses. She has also served as an invited speaker, session chair and trainer. He also serves as a consultant and advisory editor for national and international ophthalmology journals.

Prof. Dr. Özyol, who is a member of the Turkish Ophthalmology Association (TOD), the TOD Cataract and Refractive Surgery Unit, the TOD Glaucoma Unit, and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, specialises in corneal diseases, corneal transplantation, cataract surgery and glaucoma.

Prof. Dr. Özyol is married and has two children.
