Yücel YÜKSEL

He was born in 1978 in Korkuteli District of Antalya. He graduated from Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine in 2003. Between 2004-2010, he received specialization training from Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine, General Surgery Clinic. In the last 18 months of his assistantship, he worked in the Department of Organ Transplantation of Akdeniz University and performed the operations of liver, kidney and pancreas transplant patients and followed them after the surgery.

Between August 2010 and August 2011, he did his military service as a General Surgery Specialist at the 23rd Gendarmerie Border Division Command Şırnak Military Hospital. During his compulsory service between August 2011 and December 2012, he worked as a General Surgery Specialist at Tatvan State Hospital. During this period, he worked as the Deputy Chief Physician of Tatvan State Hospital for 8 months. Between December 2012 and June 2021, he worked as a General Surgery Specialist at the Organ Transplantation Center in Antalya. During the time he worked at the organ transplant center, he took part in more than 3,500 kidney transplant operations (350 children) and more than 500 liver transplant surgeries.

He performed more than 1,500 laparoscopic (closed method) kidney donor surgeries and followed up these patients.

He became an “Associate Professor” in May 2020. His areas of interest are kidney and liver transplantation, small and large intestine, liver, kidney tumors, open and laparoscopic surgeries of these tumors, Assoc. Dr. Yüksel is married and has two children.
